Oui Oui Paris

Paris. Probably a city that is on every girl’s bucket list. Luckily for me, I have family in Paris and had a chance to visit this beautiful city when I was 8 years old. But who can really appreciate Paris in its entirety at such a young age? I know I didn’t! So going back years later as an adult, I was very excited to explore the “City of Love.” I can definitely say that this time around I fell in love with this city and all that it has to offer. For those of you wanting to visit, here are some of my do’s and don’ts of Paris, France.

DO

Before visiting Paris, I do recommend jotting down a list of places and things that you would like to do. I know I know, that’s common sense right? But seriously, there’s so much to do in Paris and depending on where you are traveling from, please keep into account the jet lag/time difference you will experience on your first day. Because we already knew what we wanted to do on our first day, we were able to relax and take a quick (4 hours) nap without feeling like we were missing out. My group of 4 created a google doc where we constantly updated it with places to visit, restaurants to try and things to experience. Our first night we went to a burlesque/cabaret show called Le Lido and it was .

DON’T

In this day and age it is common to rely on debit/credit cards, especially in cities that will take it. Despite having a credit card that does not charge for foreign transactions (Capital One Venture is a good one), do not think you can solely survive off of your card. One mistake we made was not exchanging our US dollars for Euros and because of this we were not able to pay the cover charge at bars/clubs on our second night. It’s 2018, clubs should be able to take cards to pay for a cover charge right?! Don’t do what I did, make sure you change your US dollars for Euros the on the first day or even before leaving for your trip.

DO

If you’re traveling with more than 2 people and don’t want to feel crowded in a tiny Parisian hotel room, I recommend staying at an airbnb or a hotel that has apartments housed in it. We stayed at the Citadines Apart’hotel Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris which was not only located in a central area (
